Our hosting packages include backups, email, mailing lists, security patches, and other features. Our hosting services scale comfortably to meet your needs. We have been providing reliable hosting for many years, and we intend to stay ahead of demand, and not oversell any of our resources.

Enterprise Hardware and Software

Our servers are enterprise quality, rackmounted dual hyperthreading processors, using at least 2GB of RAM each, RAID mirrored disk arrays, running the stable version of Debian GNU/Linux. Included in our hosting is PHP4 & 5, MySQL 4 & 5, Perl 5.8+, the GD graphics libraries and ImageMagick 5+ support, the cURL libraries, Python 2.2+, Server Side Includes and CGI-BIN accessibility. We have SSL enabled secure website access available, and a web-enabled database management interface for performing key database operations with ease. We provide SSH/SFTP access, customizable error pages, and password protected directories in a secure chroot environment. Included is statistical log analysis, using the popular Awstats program to provide you with a graphical overview of your site's performance and detailing visitor activity. Our email is equipped with enterprise anti-virus scanning technology that checks for over 40,000 known worms, viruses, and trojans; and we use the industry-leading spam scanning software SpamAssassin which works hard to keep your email free of pesky spam.

Quality High Available Network Connectivity

Our servers are located in the Seattle Community Colocation project, in the center of high-bandwidth network connectivity in downtown Seattle. We have 24/7 physical access, and state-of-the-art monitoring and alerting mechanisms in place to keep constant and watchful tabs on all elements of our services. Hundreds of critical elements of our hosting service are monitored for anomalies and 24-hour on-call personnel are notified of any problems immediately. This monitoring enables us to also track growing trends in resource allocation, meaning that we can respond to problems before they emerge. Our servers are backed up nightly to guard against catastrophic failure. Our network is connected via a redundant mesh to Global Exchange and Limelight Networks with a fail-over into a Cogent transport for emergencies. Our bandwidth can scale to whatever needs your organization requires. The data center is fully generator and UPS backed with N+1 Hvac, and environmental conditioning. We take reliability and quality bandwidth, mix it with server class hardware in an enterprise colocation facility with proper power conditioning, network fail-over and secure cabinets resulting in hosting that you can count on.

Managed vs. Unmanaged Hosting

We offer either “Unmanaged Hosting”, or “Managed Hosting” options. With Unmanaged Hosting, you maintain your software, although we are available at our regular hourly support rates. With Managed Hosting Eggplant manages the software that you are using for your website. This means that we install, configure, and maintain the web application that powers your site and you gain the assurance that your back-end software maintains the latest stable release of the software, with the most current security updates applied.
